Why am I picking up a little Caesar’s pizza at 9:30 at night you ask? Here’s the backstory — Bobby and I had a long discussion the other night about reciprocity in our relationship and I realized sometimes I’m a bit selfish.
After our talk I went out and got a pizza. Even though it was late and I was tired, I just kept thinking about how Bobby does things like this for me all the time and how I don’t always return the love — no matter how small it may seem. “All relationships thrive when each person gives of themselves to the other” and I need to work on that.
So here I am being completely open with you guys about my faults, posting without a filter, and challenging you to give back what you receive. Too often it seems we are only concerned with how something benefits ourselves instead of how we can benefit others. This is yet another hope I have for myself this new year, taking a little bit of my focus away from myself.
Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
