Not only did I attempt to create the perfect Fourth of July outfit, I have attempted to ready my front porch for a family cookout I will be hosting. It is the first cookout I have planned since Bobby and I have been married and I am super excited for it, basically because this is our first Fourth of July where neither of us have had to work! Can you believe it?! I can finally put my Pinterest knowledge to work … at least I think. We are planning to grill hamburgers and hotdogs (hopefully it doesn’t rain) and head out for fireworks later.
I am going to be making a fruit salad with a yummy honey, lime glaze and some “starwesome” (hehe, I am so punny) Rice Krispie treats. I have linked both of those recipes for you guys here and here. I have had the hardest time finding a star shaped cookie cutter! I just need to invest in a huge collection of cookie cutters that way I don’t end up running around at the last minute looking for a festive shape.
Disclaimer — I am not an interior decorator by any means. It’s pretty obvious but I do think these pillows from Lowes and Walmart and the flags in our front door plant containers made a nice and complete look. It’s not much but sometimes a little goes a long way. Baby steps.
I hope you all have a wonderful Fourth celebrating with friends and family. How thankful we all need to be to live in a country that has granted us so many freedoms and privileges. Happy Fourth!
