40 Piece Spring Capsule Wardrobe

It’s SPRING! YIPEE! Can I just say, I am definitely ready for some sunshine and to spend my afternoons outside. I must add though, I don’t get quite as excited for spring/summer outfits as I do for the weather. But this year is going to be a bit different for me, I am going to take this spring/summer and challenge my wardrobe. I want to become just as confident with the light and airy outfits in the warmer months as I am with chunky knits and layers during the colder ones.

So without further ado, I give you my 40 piece spring capsule wardrobe. It may not seem like much, but I am so PROUD of this darn thing and I cannot wait to start making it a reality now that spring has begun.

What is my most favorite part about my capsule, you ask? That I was able to maintain my color palette! One of the most intimidating things to me about spring/summer clothes is all of the pastels and bright colors. Which, if you know me at all, is something not so common in my closet – blush and light blue are about as pastel/springy as I can get. So I was very excited when I realized I could maintain my neutral palette and still have a lot of options!

Keep in mind, you can certainly tweak this to what works best for you and your style. If you like dresses more than skirts, then have 4 dresses and 2 skirts instead. Or if you don’t wear camis, add 3 different tops to your capsule. The goal is just to maintain round about 40 items. I left out accessories because beyond a hair scarf, a hat and rattan bag, I don’t anticipate accessorizing too much. But I wouldn’t count those as pieces in a capsule anyways.

An even better part — I’ve even created a downloadable checklist for you!

I sure hope this helps you in curating your own capsule wardrobe. Look out for a 10×10 challenge coming up at the end of the month where I pare down my closet even more to only 10 pieces over 10 days to create 10 outfits!
