In honor of my 30th birthday, I thought it would be fun to share a few things about me you may not know so you all can hopefully find me a bit more relatable in this social media jungle. Sorry to all of my friends out there who’ve known me forever … you probably already know these.
- I do not like chocolate … weird I know.
- I’m not a cheesecake fan either.
- Anything with fruit or cinnamon … thats my kind of dessert.
- And I do love sour candies! Those are my favorite.
- I like to speak in accents literally all the time. British is my favorite and Australian is the one I cannot seem to master!
- I am a huge animal nerd.
- My favorite animal is an Okapi and my favorite group of animals is the ungulates … see I told you, huge nerd.
- Spiders scare me to death! But I can’t kill them. If they are in my house I choose to throw a cup over them and scoop them up and throw them out the door.
- I really cannot kill any creature. Even if there is a gnat if my car I try to roll the window down so it will fly out.
- When I first started college I majored in Zoology because I wanted to be a habitat designer.
- I am now a pharmacist, which took an extra 4 years of hard work … but I love my job!
- When I was younger I didn’t really watch movies. People are still amazed when I tell them I haven’t seen classic movies like dirty dancing or the breakfast club …oops.
- Now that I am actually into watching movies Pixar and Marvel are my favorites.
- I have never been a reader, with the exception of the Hunger Games … I think my mind wanders too much. But if I can ever sit myself down long enough to get through the first 3-4 chapters then I can usually make it through a book.
- I love to travel … I am currently planning our next Euro Trip, that will hopefully take place this fall.
- The places to travel on my bucket list are Iceland, Hungary, Austria, Greece, and New Zealand.
- I am beach bum at heart.
- My favorite city to visit is Charleston, South Carolina.
- If I could move anywhere it would be there.
- I am a Christian. My personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important part of my life.
- My husband and my family come second. Family is hugely important to me and I feel like I have always been very devoted to them.
- Eventually I would like to have 3 children. I know I’m getting started late but I have always wanted a big family of my own. My husband isnt completely on board but we’ll get him there. 😉
- I am extremely self conscious, so having pictures made in public is always a struggle. I always end up getting really nervous before we go out but my sweet husband can usually get my confidence back up just enough to go.
- J.Crew is my absolute favorite store to shop at, with Nordstrom coming in at a close second.
- Blue is my favorite color to wear.
- Speaking of blue, I am a die hard UNC Tarheel basketball fan. I watch every game, yell at the TV and I cried when they won the national championship this year.
- I love to nap and sleep late. I think I could be a professional napper. Seriously, it is probably my favorite pass time.
- I am not a fan of rain. I know it is a necessity of life but I just prefer it to be raining when I am not outside and have no plans to be outside.
- Speaking of rain, it rained on my wedding day. When I say rained, I mean it poured and I was absolutely distraught. But our wedding was not ruined, I think the rain made it more romantic.
- My life was not over when I turned 30, despite me thinking it would be. We are not guaranteed another day, much less another birthday. So I am choosing to embrace turning 30.
Happy Birthday Courtney! As I was reading this I just kept thinking “that is so me!”. Especially to numbers 6,7,8 and 23, 24, and 25!
Okapis are my favorite animal too! So funny 🙂
I’m so glad we connected through blogging! I hope this next year is wonderful for you!
