It’s a dreary Monday over here in Asheville. While I don’t like to complain about the weather, I feel Asheville is having an identity crisis, thinking it’s actually Seattle when in fact it’s not! It’s no exaggeration when I say it’s rained solid here for the last two months. And guess what’s in the forecast? More rain …
So I’m going to talk about a few of my current favorites to try to brighten up my day. (Also, shout out to the middle picture and my true self 😆)
If you follow me on IG then you know I am on an extreme hat kick, as of late. I have been wearing this rancher from Lack of Color seemingly everyday, and I’m not mad about it. In fact I love it so much, I own it in three colors. Oops. Secret though, I have always loved hats but I had a really bad habit of buying them and never wearing them. I never could quite muster up the courage to wear them out. I’m not sure how or why I conjured up the courage but I have finally begun to wear them. AND I LOVE THEM! They actually make me feel good. And lucky for me, I live in a super hipster town so no one really looks at you funny if you’re wearing a hat. But regardless, don’t worry about the haters. Do you, boo.
P.S. If you’re a local you can get these ranchers over at Nest Boutique in Biltmore Village.
Here is yet another story of me not being confident enough to wear my purchases. I bought these leopard booties last fall (and I mean 2017 – don’t worry I linked a super similar pair below). I think I wore them once. I loved them, but I was worried people would make fun of me for wearing them. Well, I decided not to worry about that either! I know it sounds like an oxymoron but much like hats, these booties now GIVE me confidence. I think that’s because at their core, they represent me and my style and I am embracing them. (and the church says amen)
Okay moving on from that, I just bought this leopard skirt and I CANNOT wait to style it. Also, name anything else leopard and I want it. Like this cardigan (which happens to be on sale) — okay, I need to stop.
three. TAILORED PANTS
All of this cold rain has me looking towards spring and I have my eye on some tailored pants. What do I mean by tailored? I mean a high waisted pair of pants with a tapered leg that is still structured. And I plan to be wearing these pants all spring long. First up, I want a white pair and then maybe a dusty pink pair. I’m coming around to pink, okay. Just dusty though, don’t get me near Hot Pink. Which used to be my favorite color in high school – weirddddd.
That’s all for now. I’ll be sharing more spring faves as we get closer to the season.
