#traveldiary: Vegas

In honor of our next travel adventure coming up I thought I would finally share our Vegas trip with you guys. It’s a bit overdue, but that’s typically how I roll.

We celebrated Bobby’s big 3-0 with a mini vacay in Vegas. It was a first time visit for both of us and we were able to celebrate with 8 of our closest family and friends.

Also I will say this, when I go on vacation I tend to GO ON VACATION … I pack every possible thing into our time. We were only in Vegas for four days but we did soooo much.

Where we stayed:

The LINQ

This is a really good place to stay for the younger crowd. There was a strip called the LINQ Promenade right behind our hotel with tons of places to eat (a Sprinkles Cupcakes with an ATM!) and the High Roller (ferris wheel) was within walking distance too. We didn’t have a chance to ride, although I wish we would have.

Where we ate:

Haute Doggery

JaBurritos Sushi Burritos

Shake Shack

CUT

Hash House A Go Go

Sprinkles Cupcakes

In N Out Burger

What We Did:

Red Rock Canyon

This park is only 15 minutes outside of Vegas and definitely worth a visit for a few hours.  If we would have had more time, we would have traveled to the Valley of Fire.

Unsuccesfully saw Rick Ross (but made lots of memories)

Blue Man Group

Birthday Dinner at CUT

Bellagio Conservatory and Gardens

Helicopter Flight to the Grand Canyon

Since we were pressed for time and wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, a helicopter tour made total sense. If you have the opportunity to do it you must! Maverick Helicopters were complete professionals and made sure our experience was nothing short of amazing.

We spent our last day exploring the strip, walking to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign (tip: don’t wait in line to take the picture, get a picture off to the side of the sign), riding the New York, New York rollercoaster, watching the Bellagio fountains and getting in the last little bit of casino life we could. I even played my first round of Craps!
