#traveldiary: VilleFranche-sur-Mer

This was our third day along the Cote d’Azur and by far our most favorite. We traveled by bus, about 15 minutes, to the coastal fishing village of Villefrance-sur-Mer and spent the day walking along the water and through the narrow streets lined with brightly colored homes.

We spent the majority of our day in Villefranche-sur-Mer but did want to get in a few more hours in Nice proper. When we headed back we walked up to Castle Hill, where you can enjoy the best views of Nice. We timed it perfectly as we were able to catch the sunset over nice while we were atop the hill.

We ended the day back in Nice strolling along the Promenade des Anglais and getting in our last views of the Mediterranean. One thing I must mention is that the beach in Nice was made of pebbles, no sand. One of the most interesting sounds I’ve ever heard was the sound of the waves rushing over the pebbles.
